Our top spots on the Bellarine Peninsula

Bellarine Favourites

Some spots for your visit to the Geelong and the surrounding Bellarine

The Bellarine Peninsula isn't just stunning landscapes or pristine coastlines, although they play a significant role. It's about the sense of freedom, exploration, and the heart-warming community vibe that makes the journey feel like a combination of an adventure and a homecoming.

The Bellarine is a harmonious blend of coastal beauty, rich history, and vibrant culture. Its beaches, wineries, villages, and eateries offer a rich palette of experiences that make every visit unique. There are so many hidden gems for you to find.

Need to wash your hair? Want a cocktail? Head over to Style Bar for a fantastic experience to feel refreshed and revamped. There is a barber and they cater for groms too. It’s super luxe and a fun treat. Abby and the team will make you feel super welcome.

Che Vuoi - Barwon Heads

Che vuoi AKA “what do you want”.

The Italian in me loves it here. Authentic Italian food, great drinks offering, lovely staff and a great vibe.

And the tiramisu *chef’s kiss. Buon appetito.

Kilgour St Grocer - Geelong

On the corner of two suburban streets right near Geelong CBD you’ll find the ultimate corner store. Stop for a good coffee, great sandwich and replenish your van's pantry with organic and local goodies.

Geelong Cellar Door

Geelong Cellar Door is on the ever-entertaining Little Malop Street in Geelong CBD. Surrounded by numerous eateries and bars, each bringing their own offering to the precinct, Geelong Cellar Door holds it’s own with its extensive, carefully curated wine collection.

Enjoy a light bite and a sip from a local vineyard.

Sonder Studio - Belmont

A co-working space to make your dreams come alive run by the incredible Julia Hogarth. Sonder Studio is the go-to hub for creatives across the Bellarine and Surf Coast.

Are you working while you travel? Book a spot at Sonder. You will feel so connected to the local creatives and business owners and you’ll definitely get some work done.

The Range at Curlewis

For the sports enthusiasts, Curlewis Golf offers a chance to stretch those legs and enjoy a hit. There is the range and even mini golf for the littles too. They offer all day dining.

Honestly, it’s just a bit of fun!

 Pakington Street

I mean, how many streets have their own websites? If you’re around in Feb, it even has its own festival.

A stroll down Pakington St (Pako) really reveals the heart of the community, with its boutique shops, cafes, and local artistry.

Recess - Geelong

Recess is Geelong’s only certified gluten-free restaurant, but that isn’t even the main drawcard. Recess has a stellar food and drink menu, an epic vibe and a really good crowd.

They also offer a chef’s banquet menu, bottomless brunch on Sundays and DJ’s + Drags on Fridays and Saturdays - as I said, epic.

Hanoi Kitchen - Barwon Heads

Hanoi Kitchen on the corner of Hitchcock in Barwon Heads is a spot not to be missed. The food is delicious (big portions too - great for sharing!) and the service is wonderful. Wok tossed greens with tofu is my go-to.

They also offer a cooking school.

Provenance Wines - Fyansford (and the The Fyansford Paper Mill)

Sure, Provenance is an award winning winery with a beautiful restaurant that features local and seasonal ingredients BUT where it’s located, in the Fyansford Paper Mill is the most incredible feature.

The Paper Mill is right on the Barwon River, overlooking Buckley Falls. It has a rich history and has undergone a transformation since it’s current owners purchased it and opened it up to the public. It is now home to 15 businesses, including the winery and some artisans.

Ket Baker - Wallington

You can find Ket Baker sourdough bread and pastries at many a market and cafe these days, but take a wander to where it gets made. The shed is open Tuesday-Sunday from the AM until they sell out, so we suggest going to get your croissant fix early.

These are some of our favourite spots in the area, we’d love to know if you check them out.

Cheers,

Sam & Jesse
