WHAT INSPIRED US TO BUILD FOR ADVANTURE
Built for Advanture is made up of husband and wife team, Jesse & Sam. With Jesse’s cabinet making and carpentry qualifications, Sam’s eye for detail and design and our keen love of exploring, we’re here to get our clients on the road in a van perfect for living their personal ideal van-lifestyle.
Jesse is a third generation craftsman, cutting his first sheet with his dad at age 4 on the panel saw that now has pride of place in our workshop. You’ll find other tools from his Pa’s welding and fabricating work still being used in our shop - proving that high quality purchases last longer than a lifetime when taken care of.
It’s not just the tools that get handed down though, it’s also the knowledge and the sense of pride in your work that transcends generations. Both of Sam’s parents worked in the service industry (unions and local government), jobs that instill the importance of caring for people.
Combining these skills, values and personal attributes with a sense of adventure and a love for travelling the world has led us to where we are now.
Sam’s first van
Vanlife started for us in 2009. Our self-built camper took us on the coastal route to Adelaide, up through the Red Centre, to Darwin, across to the east coast and slowly back to Victoria with our beautiful (and much missed) Blue Heeler, Jacob. We picked up work along the way and had many incredible experiences that solidified our love for this kind of travel.
Further travel, adventure, learning and multiple personal van builds have followed, and we’ve added two kids to our family unit along the way. but wasn’t until 2018 that we decided to take our passion and turn it into a business.
The idea of assisting others on their own vanlife journey was just too exciting.
Now we get to create beautiful, innovative spaces on the daily. We pride ourselves on the high quality of our conversions and the relationships we build with our clients throughout the process of bringing their dreams into reality.
We are extremely passionate about what we do and have a ‘no corners cut’ approach. This extends to all the people we work with, from suppliers to subcontractors and any business we join forces with.
