TEDDY THE TRANSIT

Teddy’s owner brought their 2023 LWB Ford Transit to Built for Advanture so we could transform it into their dream home-on-wheels. This Transit has been crafted to tick all of its owners boxes and combining aesthetics with functionality, our signature.

The star of this build is the French Navy cabinetry. Our cabinetry, which is constructed from lightweight laminated materials with exposed poplar edges, offers an abundance of storage while maintaining an effortless elegance. There are custom solutions for all storage needs, from a specially designed toilet drawer to the well-thought-out under-bed cabinets for services and practical bedside table, augmented by the overhead cabinets spanning the full length of the van.

We began with the three-layer sound deadening and insulation approach we prefer, ensuring a quiet and comfortable interior. The walls and ceiling were fitted with custom coverings made from lightweight Australian timber, painted white for a serene and inviting space. Next comes the robust sub-floor which is topped with waterproof Chicory-coloured lining boards, framed with aluminium door trims—a durable foundation that doesn't compromise on style. Also recognising the Blackhole Blackbutt veneer accents that add a natural, warm touch.

The kitchen area in Teddy features 42mm Brushed Brass RV Labs handles, soft-close drawers, a flip-up bench top extension, 130L Bushman fridge and stainless steel tapware and sink. Plumbing features like a 12V water system including water heater, significant onboard water storage and an external shower outlet cater to all the necessities of van life.

The van's electrical system comprises of zoned LED lighting, a bespoke BFA x Enerdrive display panel including Simarine, dual solar panels and top-of-the-line Enerdrive batteries and components ensuring extended off-grid capability.

Further features include a wind-out Fiamma awning, awning lighting, an additional ADR-approved window with opening portion and flyscreen, swivel seating, Lagun table mount and table top, fitted side door flyscreen, Sirocco fans, diesel heater and gooseneck reading lights - all of which enhance both the van's functionality and aesthetics. And, don’t forget the fixed, full length queen bed that provides an inviting retreat after a day of adventure.

Like all our vans, Teddy comes with VASS certification and VicRoads re-stamping.
