ROMAN THE RENAULT

This Long Wheel Base Renault Master has a level of appeal that will keep you thinking about it long after you encounter it.

The custom-built cabinetry, finished in ‘Snow’ by Plyco, is built to optimize the space. The overhead cabinetry spans from the ensuite to the rear doors and employs self-holding gas struts so the doors stay open without being held. Other thoughtful touches include RV Labs brushed copper half-moon self-locking handles, soft-close drawers, a pull-out pantry beside the fridge, the benchtop infill for the sink and dual flip-up benchtop extensions—one at the kitchen end and another at the sliding door. A dedicated electrical cabinet houses the power system, while an under-bed plumbing cabinet keeps water components neatly tucked away. There is even a cat retreat built into the bench seating for some feline friends.

Natural, lightweight Australian hardwood ceiling linings and pristine white walls provide a clean, airy feel. Durability meets style with the hardwearing, waterproof smoked spotted gum flooring which perfectly compliments the blackbutt veneer benchtops.

Roman has a MaxxFan Deluxe roof vent with remote control, a pair of Sirocco fans, a MaxxFan Dome vent in the shower and an additional window with flyscreen to assist in keeping the space well-ventilated and keeping these Queenslanders comfy. The 3.5m Fiamma awning then creates an alfresco space for fresh air living while protected from the sun.

Meal prep is a breeze with this amount of bench space and an 85L Bushman fridge. Cooking is just as easy with the fixed double induction cooker (2000w model), sink and 12v tap. These premium kitchen appliances lend to the sophisticated aesthetic, enhanced by the tiled splashback.

Maximizing convenience, a versatile table mounts seamlessly at the existing swivel seats, transforming the space for dining or work. Built for Advanture window covers in Burleigh Beige provide privacy and insulation, while a thermal and blockout curtain partition separates the front and rear cabins. A low-profile curtain track ensures smooth operation without sacrificing headroom.

There is a custom-fit double bed with an extendable portion, providing an area to lounge during the day and a bed, almost a full 2 metres long, to sleep in at night. Key to the design of the bed, is that the kitchen is all still fully functional when the bed is in its extended form. The foam mattress is supported by a breathable underlay. Beneath the bed lies an expansive garage-style storage area, including a slide-out drawer for easy access to any gear packed away.

The electrical set up powering Roman’s adventures includes two fixed solar panels
(mounted securely with dedicated solar entry points), a 200amp/h lithium battery, 2000-watt inverter and an 80amp charger - all monitored via Bluetooth for effortless oversight. Safety and efficiency are paramount with 240v RCD protection, multiple double pole power points, an Enerdrive ESYS board, all necessary cable, conduit, fuses, and an isolation switch. All electrical components are fit off by licensed professionals.

A stylish ensuite shower, complete with sleek black shower hardware and specially tiled base, offers a spacious footprint. We have used our favourite shower door - the THEdoûr Bespoke ROLdoûr - again. The portable Thetford toilet conveniently tucks away within the shower space when desired. Fresh and grey water needs are met with an underbody storage system, each holding 95L. Having a 12v water pump system means a consistent flow, simplifying off-grid living.

Safety is non-negotiable, with a fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector installed for peace of mind. Additionally, the van is engineered to meet Queensland road authority regulations, ensuring compliance and assurance.

Could this be your Roman Empire?
